Why am I not seeing subscriptions?
The Swym Back in Stock Alerts app has become a core revenue driver for many of our merchants. But the first step for you to start reaping the benefits of the app is by collecting interest or alert requests for your out of stock products.
Our app is pretty efficient at getting you these alert requests. But if you’re not seeing any subscriptions in your “Requested Alerts” section, there are a few things you could check. We’ve listed these reasons below, along with brief solutions which are linked to in-depth articles about how you can tackle each of these scenarios.
- ONLY FOR SHOPIFY: Is the Swym Back in Stock Alerts app published to your live theme? And is your online store published and not password protected?
One of the main reasons why you may not be seeing subscriptions is if the Swym Back in Stock Alerts app is not live on your published theme on Shopify. This could happen if you have multiple versions or different themes you’re working on for your store. To check if this is the case, visit the Quick Start screen on Swym Admin and check which theme the app is installed in.
Another reason you may not be seeing any subscriptions is that your store may be under password protection and not visible to your shoppers. You can easily change these settings by following these instructions.
- Is the form/button appearing on your out of stock product pages?
Your shoppers will not be able to subscribe if they don’t see a way to do this on your out of stock product pages. To ensure that your online store visitors are seeing the ‘Notify Me’ button, visit any of your out of stock products on an incognito tab to check if the Swym Back in Stock Alerts app is showing.
If you don’t see the button or form on your out of stock product pages, here are some possible reasons why:
- App setup is incomplete
- App is disabled
- Quota is hit
- It is manually disabled
- The form or button is disabled
- Other apps/scripts delaying are delaying load
This article will help you troubleshoot the problems mentioned above.
- Is the form/button easily visible on your out of stock product pages?
If the button or form is showing up on your out of stock product pages, it may not be apparent to your shopper. This could be because of the placement of the form/button or the colors or the text used.
Here are some best practices for you to run through, to ensure that your button is easily visible on your out of stock product pages, so your customers don’t miss it. You can easily make the changes to your button or form through the customization page on Swym Admin.
- Do you have out of stock product pages up on your online store?
Another reason why you don’t have subscriptions is because you may not currently have out of stock products pages on your website.
This can be because:
- None of your products are out of stock at the moment
- You could have hidden your out of stock product pages through an app or manually
- You could have a filter that removes out of stock product pages
If you don’t have any products that are out of stock, then wait till you do to watch the subscriptions roll in. If you do have out of stock products, here is an article to help you troubleshoot the other two scenarios and get your out of stock pages in front of your customer.
- Do you have out of stock pageviews?
If your out of stock product pages are visible to your shoppers, you may not be getting subscriptions because your out of stock pages may not be getting as much traffic as necessary or they may not be optimized. Here are some best practices to help optimize your out of stock product pages.
